| We
would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your family
to St Columba College. This is a short note to let the community know
that we have a very active Parents and Friends committee at St Columba
College.
We have monthly
meetings, usually the second Wednesday of the month in the staffroom
at the Middle / Senior School.
Also on the
executive committee is the College Principal, or if they are not
available the Deputy Principal will attend. We have both the Principal
and Deputy Principal attend the meetings also other staff members
whom have children at the College.
We have had
many successful fundraisers at St Columba including our Country
Fair, Mother's and Father's Day stalls to name a few
We enjoy a close
working relationship with all the college staff. While Fundraising
is a major objective of the Parents and Friends we must never lose
sight of the main reason for our existence at the College which
is to maintain parent support at a high level of involvement. We
have a responsibility of ensuring that the College moves forward
in line with the vision of our Catholic and Anglican Heritage.
The Parents
and Friends Association provides a vital link in the operation of
the school council, as well as empowering the wider community of
students, parents and staff to walk the journey of unity with one
another.
We have four parent representatives on the College Council who sit for a term of 2 years. They have an opportunity to sit on many and various committees.
