At St Columba
College, we are committed to 'walking with' parents on the educational
journey of their child / children. Therefore we invite parents to
take an active role in supporting the College's educational program.
Opportunities
exist for parents to:
- Be a member
(elected) of the College Council.
- Be a member
of any parent groups or associations.
- Support classroom
activities by listening to children read, working on story writing
etc.
- Work as a
part of our Learning Assistance Program
(ie. working on a regular basis with a specific child as directed
by the teacher).
- Share particular
talents - musical/artistic/sport etc.
- Support excursions/camps
etc.
- Come together
for special interest groups.
- Support working
bees.
- Supporting
student work experience placement etc.
At present we
have a Parents and Friends
Committee which includes sub groups of Social and Fundraising
along with Grounds and Maintenance. The Parents and Friends Committee
is a subgroup of the College Council.
